Health and Genetics
Today longevity is less about how long you live, but more about the length of time that you are happy, healthier and more active as you are growing older. Looking after your health isn’t just about treating illness when it shows up — it’s about staying one step ahead.
It starts with knowing yourself, and when it comes to health, this is statistical and intuitive. You need to know more about your body and be sensitive to changes in it. Apart from general check-ups and advanced screening extend your knowledge into DNA and food intolerance testing.
By knowing what your body needs — and what it doesn’t — you can take meaningful steps toward better nutrition, weight management, movement, stress management, and medical care that’s truly tailored to you.
Another factor to consider is that your body and mind are deeply connected — more than many people realize. When you take care of one, you support the other. That’s why good physical health is a key foundation for mental wellness, and equally, a healthy mind is essential for keeping your body strong and resilient.
When your body feels good, your mind benefits. Exercise, for example, doesn’t just keep your heart healthy — it also releases feel-good hormones like endorphins, which can ease anxiety and lift your mood.
On the flip side, your mental health plays a powerful role in how well your body functions. Chronic stress, burnout, or unresolved emotional struggles can take a physical toll — weakening your immune system, disrupting sleep, affecting digestion, and even increasing your risk of chronic conditions.
Maintaining a healthy weight plays a vital role in preventing a wide range of chronic conditions, boosting your energy levels, and helping you enjoy a longer, more vibrant life. Healthy weight management isn’t about extreme diets or short-term fixes — it’s about creating sustainable habits that nourish your body. This includes eating balanced, whole foods, staying physically active, getting enough rest, managing stress, and tuning into your body’s natural signals. It also means recognizing that everyone’s “healthy weight” looks different — and it should always be approached with self-compassion and realistic goals.
I have a very special interest in nutrition and health, and the factors underpinning the latter. I know that I feel energetic, focused, and mentally strong to weather anything, if I focus on good habits and caring for myself. I am also passionate about preventative screening and understand my own genetic make-up. It gives me context on how to move forward. I am hoping to be healthy enough to work into my old age and to enjoy life in other ways for as long as a can with my loved ones. If you are struggling with your weight, unhealthy habits, or want to design your lifestyle around your genes, let me help you.
